After graduating from high school I followed preparatory courses in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Earth sciences for 2 years, at the end of which I was admitted to AgroParisTech (Paris Institute of Technology for Life, Food and Environmental Sciences). There I pursued a Master of Science in Engineering for 3 years, where I acquired broad-based knowledge on agronomy, agriculture, environment, life and food sciences. During my last year in AgroParisTech I followed a Master 2 program in Nutrition & Health that ended in a 6 month-internship in the “Intestinal ecosystem, probiotics, antibiotics” team at the Faculty of Pharmacy (Paris Descartes, Paris). There I took part in a collaborative project with PiLeJe society (specialized in micronutrition) aiming at selecting a bacterial strain with prophylactic properties in cow milk’s allergy.
After graduating from AgroParisTech, I started a PhD at the Center for Psychiatry and Neurosciences (INSERM/Paris Descartes, Paris) under the direction of Jacques Pantel, which I am currently completing in Florence Noble’s team. My PhD project is focused on a neuroendocrine system – acyl ghrelin & its receptor, the GHSR – implicated in energy homeostasis. We use a novel Ghsr mutant rat model to assess the physiological relevance of GHSR signaling pathways in metabolism, homeostatic & hedonic feeding behavior, as well as hippocampal-dependent memory.
